About Luke Askew

Luke Askew B.Ost

Movement and biomechanics have been a lifelong interest for me. Prior to graduating as an osteopath from the British School of Osteopathy, I was a professional dancer. I hold two teaching qualifications with Distinction with the I.S.T.D- the world’s leading dance examination society and have many years of teaching experience which is very helpful when teaching Pilates and rehabilitation programs to patients. My osteopathic training involved four years of full time study and included 1000 hours of supervised clinical practice.

My postgraduate training has been driven by the needs of my patients but focussed on the benefits of evidence-based therapy. Consequently, I now use a combination of osteopathic techniques along with clinically modified Pilates.

I recognise the benefit strengthening/stretching therapy can have as part of a treatment plan and am able to prescribe exercises to a variety of levels and abilities.

In order to deliver increasingly higher standards of treatment I regularly attend osteopathic courses and also medical lectures, particularly within orthopaedics and neurology to keep in touch with current developments and research.
